25 Beginner's Guide

Basic Rules

  • Players are dealt five cards. After each player plays a card, the highest scoring card wins (a lift) and receives 5 points. The winner then places the first card for the next lift.

  • The first player to 25 (5 lifts) wins!

  • For numerical cards (1-10) aim to play the highest in red (, ) and lowest in black (, ).

  • Face cards (K,Q,J) are ranked as normal with K being the highest followed by Q, J.

  • The trump card is the last card dealt and is shown to all players. Any cards that are of the same suit as the trump card will beat any cards of any other suit!

  • In a trump v trump situation refer to the below table of card rankings.

  • If you have the ace of trumps, you can pick up the trump card to replace any card you want.
